Open Google Pay app on your device and add your CNCBI Credit Card

Scan your card and input the verification code

Follow the instructions to confirm card details, accept privacy related terms and conditions and terms of use. (If device lock password is not set up, please set up according to the instruction)

Enter the one time password issued by the Bank via SMS and complete verification

Tap your CNCBI Credit Card and drag it to the top of the screen to set it as default card

It’s ready. Turn on your device screen and tap on any contactless payment terminals with Google Pay logo to complete the payment

What is Google Pay?
Google Pay is a mobile payment service which allows CNCBI Credit Cardmembers to make payments using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. It provides a simple and secure way to pay with your Android device in stores or through apps where Google Pay is accepted.
What are the device requirements of Google Pay?
Your Android device must:
- Have Google Account
- Support NFC
- Run Android 4.4 (KitKat^®) or newer running
- Downloaded with Google Pay App
- Have a valid CNCBI Credit Card
Will my card work with Google Pay?
Eligible to CNCBI Mastercard Credit Card and Visa Credit Card (Including Principal and Supplementary Card), but not applicable to DollarSmart Cash Card.
How do I set up Google Pay?
Step 1: Download Google Pay App from the Google Play store
Step 2: Click Google Pay App
Step 3: Click “+” to add an Eligible Credit Card (Snapping a picture and input authorization code)
Step 4: Follow the on-screen instructions and accept relevant terms of use
Step 5: Set up a screen lock, if you do not have one.
Step 6: Complete the verification by inputting password sent by the Bank via mobile SMS.
When I add a card, I receive an SMS prompt asking for an authorization code. What is the authorization code and why is it required?
For security purposes, we may ask you to enter an authorization code to confirm your identity. If prompted, please follow the on-screen instructions to receive and enter the authorization code. If you fail to enter the authorization code, or if the authorization code has expired, please call our Customer Services Hotline on (852) 2280 1288.
Where can I use Google Pay?
Google Pay is accepted in stores with Google Pay logo stated on contactless payment terminal. You may also use for app with Google Pay option. (For acceptance on the use of Google Pay, the merchants’ decision shall be final and conclusive.)
How do I use Google Pay?
- In stores
  Activate your device and hold it near the Mastercard contactless payment terminal until you hear a beep sound that shows your payment is done.
- In apps
  Tap the “Google Pay” button at checkout.
Does it cost anything to use Google Pay?
No. Our Bank does not charge you for using Google Pay.
Can I earn bonus point or cash rebate by using Google Pay?
Yes. You can receive bonus point or cash rebate which is just the same as using your physical card.
How do I set my CNCBI Credit Card as the default card?
The first card added in Google Pay will be the default card. Alternatively, you can change your CNCBI Credit Card as the default card by following below steps:
Step 1: Tap your CNCBI Credit Card which you would like to set as the default card in the App
Step 2: Drag it to the top of the screen
Step 3: Let go in order to complete the setting
Can I add more than one credit card to my Google Pay?
Yes. Android currently allows an unlimited number of cards for each device.
Can I put my card on multiple Android devices?
Yes, you can add your card on multiple Android devices. As devices don’t share card information, you will need to add your card to the respective Google Pay App for each of your device.
Is there any limit on each Google Pay transaction?
We do not set a limit for each transaction and you can perform Google Pay transactions up to the available credit limit. Subject to the setting of the contactless terminal, there may be a transaction limit of HK$500 or HK$1,000. For transactions that are not accepted by Google Pay, please use your physical credit card for payment.
Can I use Google Pay overseas?
Yes, you can use Google Pay overseas in stores where Google Pay logo is stated on contactless payment terminal.
How can I browse my recent Google Pay transaction records?
All Google Pay transactions will be shown on related Credit Card statements. You can also see the last 10 Google Pay transactions made through your device in your Google Pay app by tapping the ‘Transaction Display’ button.
How do I remove my card from Google Pay?
You can remove your card by tapping your card in the App and selecting "Remove Card" at the bottom of the screen. This will remove the card instantly.
Can I continue to use my physical card after I add/remove my CNCBI Credit Card to Google Pay?
Yes, no matter after you add/remove the Card to Google Pay or not, you may continue to use your physical card as usual.
What should I do if having difficulty with software or hardware of my devices?
Please visit support.google.com/googlepay for troubleshooting.
Do I need to connect to the internet when using Google Pay?
No, network data is not required for adding card. But there are chances that may need internet access for setting Google Pay or update your transaction record.
How do I request refund for an item that I bought using Google Pay in a store?
If you need to return a purchase made with Google Pay, you will have to bring along your physical credit card and request the merchant to issue a refund. For verification purposes, you may need to provide the last 4 digits of your Virtual Account Number to the merchant. This number can be found in the ‘Card details’ or ‘Transaction details’ of the Google Pay app.

Remark:
1.Google Pay is not applicable to CNCBI Air China Dual Currency Credit Card, CNCBI RMB Credit Card and CNCBI Dollar$mart Cash Card.

How secure is Google Pay transaction?
When you shop at a merchant, there will have a unique Virtual Account Number created to represent your account information, Google Pay does not send your actual Credit Card Number, name with your payment in the app and never share with the merchant.
What is tokenization?
Tokenization is a method of replacing your sensitive payment card information (Credit Card Number, Expiry Date, Security Code, etc.) with a device-specific “Token” which acts as a surrogate value. In mobile payments, Tokens are used to protect your payment information and to reduce the security risks inherent to plastic cards. Your card information is never stored in your phone.
What card data is stored on the device?
The only card data stored on a cardmember’s mobile device is the “Token” Google Pay passes to the payment processor. This Token represents a cardmember’s card and helps to ensure account security because it differs from the Credit Card Number it represents.
Can anyone other than myself pay for goods and services using my device?
Anyone with your device “Passcode” or a fingerprint registered to your device will be able to authorize transactions using your Credit Card with Google Pay. You must keep your device safe and secure, and your device “Passcode” secret. Do not let anyone else to have their fingerprint registered to your device while your Credit Card is registered with it. Always keeps the mobile device on lock to avoid anyone using your mobile device for using Google Pay.
What if my Credit Card is lost?
Please call our Credit Card Lost Card hotline (852) 3603 7899 immediately to report a lost card. Once your physical Credit Card is reported lost, you will not be able to continue using Google Pay with this Credit Card.
What if my device is lost or stolen?

If I change my device, can I continue to use Google Pay?
Yes, but you need to add your Credit Card to Google Pay again.
If I receive a renewal card, do I need to update the card information in Google Pay?
If a card you have previously registered on Google Pay is renewed, you need to register the Google Pay with your new card again.
If I receive a replacement card with the same card number, do I need to update my Credit Card information with Google Pay on my existing device?
No. If you receive a replacement card with the same card number and expiry date, your mobile device will connect to your replacement card with the same number automatically. You can continue to use your card in Google Pay to make transactions when you receive and activate your replacement card.
If I receive a replacement card with different card number, do I need to update my Credit Card information with Google Pay on my existing device?
Yes. If you receive a replacement card with different card number, your mobile device will not connect to your replacement card automatically. You need to activate your replacement card and register the Google Pay with your new card again, so that you can continue to use your card in Google Pay to make transactions.
What happens when I reset, format, or update my device?
When performing a factory data reset, format, or update, all payment information in Google Pay will be deleted. You will need to set up and enter your Credit Card(s) information into Google Pay again after your device has been reset.
What happens when I change my device to a new model?
If you change your device to a new model, you will need to add your card(s) to Google Pay again. Please ensure that you remove your card(s) from any device before selling, exchanging, or disposing of them.
If I have to repair, sell or no longer use my device, what should I do?
Please make sure to remove all your Credit Card(s) information from Google Pay before repairing, selling or stop using your device. And set up Google Pay App and add your Credit Card again afterward.
What happens if my device does not recognize my fingerprint?

How can I keep my device and card registered with Google Pay securely protected?
- Set a screen lock – do not choose any personal identification number as password that is easy to guess by any other person.
- Turn on Android Device Manager and sign in your Google account on your device – if your device is stolen and wiped, you can use Android Device Manager find, lock and erase everything on your device.
- Make sure all Apps are downloaded from trusted sources.
- Do not visit any suspected website and accessing website through hyperlinks embedded.
- Turn on Verify Apps – block or even warn before installing apps that may cause harm.
- Use anti-virus software – update it regularly and accept any updates to the Android OS.
- Safeguard your device.
- Do not disclose password on your device to others.
- Do not add others’ fingerprint in your device.
- Turn off NFC when not in use.
