Visa or MasterCard credit cardmembers can enroll Merchant Instalment Payment Plans when checkout at the designated merchant’s shop, subject to minimum amount of HK$100.

When you make the payment by Merchant Instalment Payment Plan, you can check and confirm the total sales amount and tenor on the payment receipt. When the instalment payment is approved, you will not receive an additional notice from the bank but you can browse your instalment record in transaction history and monthly statement in both Personal i-Banking and InMotion mobile app, and the details of instalment schedule in InMotion mobile app. If the instalment payment is declined, you will receive a notification from the bank in 14 days and the payment will be processed as a retail purchase in total payment amount. You may contact our customer service to reprocess the merchant instalment order if needed.

No interest rate or handling fee for Merchant Instalment Payment plan. Kindly note that you are required to repay the merchant instalment on time according to Credit Cardmember Agreement, otherwise, it may cause additional charges.

Yes, you should be aware of and reserve sufficient credit limit of the total payment amount. The bank will hold the credit limit of total payment amount and progressively restore the credit limit of the credit card account according to the repayment of instalments received by the Bank. An overlimit charge shall apply to Merchant Instalment Plan.

Each instalment will be charged to the credit card account in the same manner as a retail transaction and shown on the monthly statement. You shall repay each instalment in the same manner as a retail transaction till the outstanding balance is fully paid.

Kindly note and agree that the sale and purchase transaction of the goods and/or services is made between the Cardmember and the merchant. The Cardmember shall pay for goods and/or services which will be delivered at a later date after payment. Any dispute between the Cardmember and any merchant for the purchase of goods and/or services effected through the use of the Card or any other obligations of the merchant shall be resolved between the Cardmember and the merchant directly. Credits for refund made by merchants to the Cardmember will be made only after the Bank has received a properly issued credit voucher. If you has already refunded your purchase, you don’t need to inform the bank to cancel this merchant instalment plan.

Chargeback protection is applicable to Merchant Instalment Payment Plan. Any dispute or claim from Cardmember will not affect Cardmember respective obligations and liabilities to repay the outstanding balance. Should there be any disputes or complaints in relation to goods and/or services, you shall handle all disputes or complaints directly with that merchant. If the chargeback request is accepted, the transaction amount will be refund to your Credit Card Account. You shall continue repayments or apply for early repayment by giving written notice to the Bank. No handling fee will be charged for the early repayment.   
If you do not fulfil the repayment obligations, it may adversely affect the your credit records maintained at the credit reference agencies and consequently further access to credit in the future.

Yes, the Cardmember may apply for early repayment of the sum of outstanding instalments under Merchant Instalment Plan by giving written notice to the bank.
